Tension springs are usually made of wire with a diameter of 1.0-16.0 mm, less often with a diameter of more than 16.0 mm.
Tension springs with a wire diameter of 19-20.0 mm are produced for pantographs of electric locomotives, wing lifting devices for combines, agricultural machines.
